How it works. This checker compares the text you paste against a list of ingredients that are commonly flagged as pore-clogging in publicly available comedogenic lists. Comedogenic ratings are based on limited testing, are not universally agreed upon, and do not account for an ingredient's concentration, the full formula, or how your individual skin responds.

Results may be incomplete or inaccurate. The tool can miss ingredients (for example, because of misspellings, alternate names, or an ingredient list that is incomplete or out of date) and can flag ingredients that are perfectly fine for your skin. A result showing no flagged ingredients does not mean a product is non-comedogenic, safe, or right for you. A flagged result does not mean a product will cause breakouts.
